Dr. von Rueden founded The Piedmont Singers of Central Va in 2016.  The eight-voice professional vocal ensemble specializes in a cappella twentieth century repertoire and performs in the Piedmont region of central Virginia.  The group has performed in Farmville, Richmond, Charlottesville, Lexington, Williamsburg, and Newport News.  2018 brought a collaboration at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts with Classical Revolutions RVA chamber ensemble, and 2019 included performances on the Grace Covenant Summer Music Series in Richmond as well as a performance at the Wintergreen Music Festival.  During the pandemic, the group has pivoted to recording virtual choral projects of works by Dale Trumbore and Lydia Jane Pugh, available on their website.  Hear their recordings on Spotify.
